Aarhus, located on the eastern coast of the Jutland peninsula, is Denmark's second largest city. In the heart of the city, you will find parks and green oases everywhere, which are perfect spots for quiet relaxation. The greenhouses in the Botanical Garden, Marselisborg Memorial Park, the University Park and the Town Hall Park are just a few of the great city oases which are definitely worth a visit, and where you’ll meet the locals relaxing as well.
There’s easy access to bike paths, running paths, outdoor gyms and even water sports close to downtown. During the summer, you can take a dip in the clean waters of the bay. The Harbour Bath, Ballehage, Den Permanente, the marinas and the swimming lane in the sea north of Aarhus Ø are all easily accessible.
Aarhus is a paradise for foodies. With four Michelin restaurants, Aarhus is a world-class gastronomic destination. Food is not the only attraction recognised in the Michelin Guide; the guide also awards stars to exceptional attractions, churches and hotels. Aarhus has an impressive collection of Michelin stars across the various categories. Den Gamle By/The Old Town Museum and Moesgaard Museum have three stars, and ARoS Art Museum and Aarhus Cathedral each have two.
